Single-Bottle Corrugated Wine Box with Honeycomb Cushioning
Having been built around a single idea, this corrugated box keeps the bottle arriving exactly as you packed it. The internal honeycomb structure grips the glass and absorbs knocks during transit, which means you can skip the foam and bubble wrap. It ships flat. That reduces freight volume by a lot. Then it erects into a retail-ready box that wineries and gift companies use for direct shipments, holiday sets and shelf displays because you're able to print your own branding on it, size it to your bottle, and order it in custom colours. It's a practical, recyclable option when you want protection without the weight or cost of a rigid box.
- Built-in honeycomb cushioning. When you use the expandable paper honeycomb, the bottle stays away from the box walls, and it absorbs the shocks from drops or rough handling all on its own. No extra packing material required.
- Ships flat to save freight. Because the box folds down before assembly, it takes up much less volume on the pallet. Your international shipping cost drops accordingly. The structural strength remains intact once you erect it.
- Fully customisable. We print your logo, artwork and brand colours on the corrugated board, and we make the sizing to fit your bottle. Not the other way around.
- Recyclable materials. Corrugated cardboard is both reusable and recyclable. For brands that want to keep packaging simple and low-impact, this fits well.
- Works for red wine, champagne and spirits. The same structure handles most standard bottle shapes. It's as simple as this: tell us your bottle dimensions, and we adjust the honeycomb cavity to match.

Customisation
Using your logo, artwork and text, we print directly on that corrugated surface. Custom colours are available. The box size and the honeycomb cavity follow your bottle dimensions alone. If you need more rigidity, adding a window, changing the closure style, or switching to a different corrugated flute are all options we can manage, and you can finish the outer surface with either matte or gloss lamination. Tell us the needs up front. We send a blank sample before printing so you check the structure.
How the box is built
The body being corrugated cardboard gives you impact resistance without the weight of wood or rigid board. The key part, the insert, is a honeycomb paper layer that expands to wrap around the bottle. When the box is closed, that honeycomb holds the bottle at four points and keeps it from shifting side to side or end to end.
As the box ships flat, the honeycomb stays collapsed during transport and pops open when you put it together. That means you can store and ship empty boxes in a fraction of the space. Once erected, the corners square up. The structure is stable enough for stacking. Printing directly on the corrugated surface in your brand colours is possible (we handle that in-house).
How the bottle sits
To match your bottle, we size the honeycomb insert using the bottle's height, diameter and shoulder profile that you provide, then we cut the cavity so the bottle slides in without any forcing, and it stays put once you close the lid. The insert grips the bottle's whole body, so there's no unsupported glass, even around the neck. Pre-shipment, we check a loaded sample by shaking it hard for ten seconds and listening for movement like you would in a real shipment. We tilt it at forty-five degrees and invert the box. If the bottle slides or comes free on any of those, we adjust the insert and test again. A control tolerance of plus or minus one millimetre applies to the insert. That's what goes into production.
Where it fits
This box fits wineries shipping single bottles to customers, retailers putting a bottle on a shelf, and gift companies building holiday or wedding sets, where a branded box costs less than a rigid magnetic box and you want to avoid foam inserts. And because it packs flat, it works if you import empty boxes and do your own assembly in a local market (close to the buyer). Very heavy bottles or extreme handling might need a wooden crate, but this box is designed to perform for standard wine bottles and normal courier routes.
Buyer questions
Can this box hold a champagne bottle with a wider diameter?
Yes. Send us your bottle dimensions or a bottle sample, and we will cut the honeycomb cavity to fit your specified diameter and height within our standard tolerance of plus or minus 1 mm.
How much does this box weigh?
The empty box is lightweight because it is made from corrugated board and ships flat. The exact weight depends on your bottle size and the corrugated flute we select, and we can confirm it once your dimensions are fixed.
Do I need to add bubble wrap or foam inside?
No. The honeycomb does all the cushioning. The box suspends your bottle away from the inner walls. We test a loaded sample by shaking, tilting, and inverting it. If the bottle moves, we adjust the insert before production.
