Leather Wine Gift Boxes
What you want from a leather wine gift box is a landing that reads like a statement. It should feel substantial in the hand, and it needs to open cleanly while holding the bottle without rattling. Because the base is a rigid greyboard core, then wrapped in leather-textured paper, PU, or faux leather, it reads premium before the recipient even glances at the label.
Three formats show up here: a single bottle with a viewing window, a double bottle, and a double bottle with space for utensils. The choice hinges on the occasion and the bottle itself, and if that occasion is a corporate gift set, you'll find a double bottle box with a utensil tray does the job. How to Choose
Don't start with the box; start with the bottle because every fitment flows from the glass. Measure its diameter at the widest point, the height, and the neck profile, and remember that Burgundy and champagne shapes require more shoulder room than a standard Bordeaux. If the bottle runs heavy, we'll spec a thicker greyboard and a reinforced base. These numbers are not where you guess, and that's because a small diameter slip means the insert won't grip the bottle correctly.
For the first reveal, then decide what the recipient sees. The lid might be full so the bottle shows only when the box opens, or the lid may hold a window cut that mirrors the label while the box stays closed. Windows are usually PVC but other options exist if you'd like a different presentation. Adding a window adds a step in production too, and that window becomes one more point where alignment must be checked carefully.
The finish gets decided third. Across most orders it's leather-textured paper for two reasons: it costs less and it takes foil stamping well. But PU and faux leather sit on the other side of that calculation with a softer touch and a deeper grain, yet they cost more. Want a debossed logo in the surface? PU and faux leather respond to that more cleanly than paper. Before any commitment, ask for a sample swatch because a screen photo never tells you how the material feels in the hand.

Can you match a specific leather texture or colour?
We match colour from Pantone references and can call in leather-textured paper, PU, or faux leather across a spread of grains. On grain alone, a physical swatch or a product list photo lets us narrow to the closest pick. But if the match on texture has to be exact, be ready because a custom material order may follow and that shifts cost and lead time.
Do the leather boxes come with a logo or branding option?
Foil stamping, debossing, and embossing can be applied to the lid or spine, though the buyer's brand team usually asks for debossing on PU and faux leather because it holds a deeper recess there. Printing inside the lid or on the insert is also possible, with a proof shown before production starts. Paper takes a shallower impression.
What if my bottle doesn't fit the standard insert?
We make the insert to your bottle's dimensions, not the other way around. Send us the bottle sample or exact measurements and we'll cut an insert that holds it at four points. For bottles whose shoulders taper oddly, don't be surprised if we recommend a custom mould before committing to material, and every change gets confirmed before you pay for tooling.
What We Control
Greyboard forms the core and it is minimum 1200 g, though we go up to 1400 g when the load includes double bottle boxes or heavier spirits. The facing stock underneath can't dip below 157 g specialty or coated paper. Recycled greyboard and high-moisture paper both cause warping and weak corners, so we don't go near them. Machine lamination applies the leather-textured paper, PU, or faux leather, and that's what stops edge peeling.
On the inside, the bottle is held at four points by an insert with no unsupported neck or shoulder hanging loose. Making that hold, the control tolerance measures plus or minus 1 mm on the insert and plus or minus 2 mm on the box body. Colour alignment follows Pantone references, and we manage it with first-article approval followed by mid-run sampling, though black, deep blue, and burgundy demand more frequent checks because they're hardest to hold. Shipping waits on our in-house checks: a 1.2 m six-face drop test with a bottle loaded, a top load of 40 kg or more applied for 24 hours, and a vibration simulation to verify the bottle doesn't move.
